Women's Initiative for Self Employment provides high-potential, low-income women with the training, funding and ongoing support to start their own businesses and become financially self sufficient. The women who go through our program significantly increase their income and assets while launching businesses, creating jobs and stimulating the local economy. We have urban hubs in San Francisco and Oakland to serve women throughout the Bay Area and are now offering our business training services in New York City.
Our Results
Just one year after training, our client’s nearly double their average annual income.
Five years after training, 70% of graduates are still in business.
In 2012, our recent graduates created and retained 5,317 jobs.
For every $1 invested in Women’s Initiative, $30 is returned to the local economy as our clients pay taxes, hire others and leave the welfare system.
